Couldn't watch it after Season 1

I really liked the first few episodes, I was so happy for Josh and pleasantly surprised to find him such an awkward and weird guy. But as the episodes went on it became more apparent that he's a prick who doesn't seem to appreciate anything. He treats Geoffrey like a piece of meat even though he was so insanely nice to Josh and I just don't understand his constant standoffishness and frustrating behaviour. I read the rest of the story on Wikipedia and watched a few episodes here and there based on the descriptions but it's mostly unbearable, bleak, demotivational *beep* masquerading as something "quirky" or "charming".
