Worst 'Reality' Show EVER!
This so called "reality show" makes Auction Hunters look semi real! Former wrestler Ric Savage and his band of merry men persuade property owners to allow them to dig up their property to find the "archaeological" treasures hiding under the dirt for a share of the profits when they sell these treasures. Everything they dig up is planted. Imagine a thin carbon steel object under 12 inches of moist dirt for 100 years and it HASN'T Rusted AWAY, but is in near perfect condition? Imagine there are antique guns buried in just about everybody's back yard? Forget the unrusted objects these bozos dig up, the BS factor is when they sell them. This is the biggest joke ever. Supposedly professional antique dealers with brick and mortar stores paying THOUSANDS of dollars, yea, thats THOUSANDS of dollars for semi rusty scrap metal with absolutely NO expert provenance that Ric Savage is claiming. WTF? From what I've seen the average retail value of the stuff these guys dig up is about $100. to $250. Now what dealer expects to make a profit by paying thousands of dollars for the stuff? In the introduction to the show, they have to show the now obligatory scenes of firearms being discharged as well as Ric Savage pushing down the plunger on a dynamite blasting box while at the same time running away from a large pyrotechnic explosion with his crew. HUH? The show touts the fact that stuff dug up in "historical" locations is worth 10 times more than "junk" from other spots. A rusty 24" adjustable wrench is worth $1000. because is was dug up near the site of an old automotive plant in Detroit (home of the auto industry). I see them at flea markets in better condition for $50. The metal detecting community hates this show because it makes it look like everyone is just in it for the money. This is far from the truth as most "Treasure Hunters" never sell what they find!
