The Truth about Flushing/Not Flushing Toilets.

So I got on line to see if I can find out if flushing your toilet once a day is really cheaper than flushing every time you use it.

After doing some research this is what I learned:

Turns out that if you have a modern toilet-one that uses about an average of 2 gallons per flush and the toilet is used under normal, everyday circumstances (meaning you only flush it after cleaning it/using it) and it's a proper working one (no leaks, cracks ect) it costs $10.95 for two people per year to flush the toilet. Or roughly $22 a year for 4 people.

I usually flush, but sometimes I wish my toilet would use the used water from the sink and shower. Environmentally, it doesn't make sense to flush your waste with clean fresh water.

Me fail English? But, that's unpossible.

I completely agree. I have heard you can set up your own filtration system, but I can only guess it costs thousands to do - and I live in an apartment, so impossible.

I am too much of a cheap bastard to set that up if it costs thousands.

I think the majority of people are too cheap to set it up. As a business practice, not sure why landlords don't get on this since often rent includes basic utilities like water and it would save them lots of cash in the long run.

Whether it saves money or not to flush a toilet, is irrelevant. It's disgusting, filthy, smelly and unsanitary to not flush the toilet and clean it after using it. Their bathrooms and houses must reek!!
