A birthday party at an old folks home?

Really?
Smashed cake, balloons she begged for and a party at a retirement home?
This show is so fake!
Who would stoop so low to have a party for a 10 year old like that?
If I was a parent of one of the kids invited,I'd ask for my gift back!
When you have a party you're supposed to entertain people there not bore them to death!
Also that cheap couple who wanted to share a casket when they died...are they kidding me?
Who ever died last wouldn't be able to have a funeral!
When the husband asked for a broken head stone I knew this show was fake!

How about the dad who threw his daughter a Sweet Sixteen at a strip club? Yes, they put some garlands around the stripper pole, but it didn't disguise them any. Also all the people there and the only food that was being served was a small cake, what looked like an almost expired cold cuts plate, etc.

The show is definitely exaggerated at least. You'll see someone do something not quite so bad - reuse pool water for dishes - and then it goes further into silliness that no one would put up with (like the woman with the husband hiding money from her and her just handing over her paycheck).

I saw that episode and it looked staged. If I had a cheapskate mom I would have refused to have a birthday party. My mother wasn't cheap, just verbally abusive. She would insult me at my birthday parties and/or throw it up in my face afterward. It was bullcrap because I didn't ask for a party and half of the kids there were cousins or children of her friends. I think entertaining stressed out mom. It really doesn't matter. At about ten years old I decided I was too old for birthday parties. I did what I had to do to get by. I think Mr. Miyagi said the best way to avoid a punch was not to be there. I learned a lot of stuff like that. When your parents are screwed up you don't host parties. You don't even invite friends to your home.
