The Steven Assanti episode...

I usually don't like to watch this show, because it's just so dang depressing. But I'm usually routing for the 600-lb patients to lose weight and get their life on track. But the Steven Assanti episode, or episodes, for that matter, was just crazy. First off, Steven was super manipulative and seemed like a terrible person to be around, in general. And secondly, I think his main problem was pain medication. He was definitely one of the most troubled people I've ever seen on My 600-lb Life. And I'm surprised the doctor didn't give up on him. There are a lot of people out there, who would love nothing more than to have that doctor's assistance. But Steven fought against it for such a long time, trying to manipulate the doctors into giving him pills. And he also heavily relied on his dad for everything, and treated him like dirt at the same time. The whole situation was just awful and cringe-worthy to watch. And it's also quite obvious that Steven purposely fell out of that golf cart, pretend to be in pain, with the hopes of getting his hands on some pain meds.

But with that being said, to be fair, I guess it would be pretty difficult to juggle between being obese and addicted to pain killers all at the same. Around the end of the last episode, it seemed as if he was starting to grasp the severity of his problem, he quit doing pain killers, and appeared to be heading in a positive direction. I wish him the best and hope he gets his life together, despite how unlikable he could be at times.

But what I wanna know is...what's become of his life? Any updates?

I saw a new episode in the middle of 2020 with the Assantis. Steven had lost some weight but was still around 600 lbs. He looked pretty bad - his hair was falling out in spots and he had a skin infection. And Dr. Now said his body odor was horrendous (some office employees were nearly throwing up from his smell). Justin had lost a couple hundred pounds and was focusing on his hobby shop back in Rhode Island. He and Steven rarely had any contact with each other.
