Edward Furlong and Tracy Gold...

Lots of actors have troubled pasts. Plenty of regular folk do too. It's just a shame that One was in a huge blockbuster movie and the other in a hit primetime network show and now they're doing Sci Fi channel saturday night stinkers.

That is pretty much the concept behind these outrageous SyFy movies. Take child stars from the 80s and 90s who desperately need the work (often due to a troubled past) and get them to do a movie like this.
