Oddly, SyFy originals have a strange liberal slant. Many of the issues (tornadoe's, aliens, etc) involve global warming.

By liberal slant, do you mean facts supported by scientific evidence? Strange, with all the fairy tale level garbage they air Ialways considered them more on the conservative side.
