Voice-overs instead of subtitles are bad enough in general, but the guy reading the translations over Shin's Korean speaks so monotonously and slowly that it sounds like he's reading stereo instructions to a child. There was almost no human emotion detectable in the narration. Perhaps that's the point, but I couldn't get 10 minutes in before deciding to buy the book instead of having to listen to his voice anymore.

shareI totally agree and echo both your sentiments here. There is no way that an English speaking voiceover was needed, especially as - as viewers - we miss all the subtle inflections and nuances of speech that can give some insights into psychology and emotion.
I rated this film as 8/10 (perhaps too high), though would maybe have given it 9/10 with no English voiceover narration.
