Only two episodes left of season 5

So Elizabeth wants to go back to Russia- I didn't see that coming. I thought Phillip would be the one to quit first. But I don't know if The Center will allow them to quit now. Claudia is a hardass, not as concerned about their emotional health as Gabriel was.

I think it is still 1984 in the show, Chernenko is premier but he only lasted one year before Gorbachev took over and he was the last one before the break up of the USSR. I do hope they continue the show at least partway into the Perestroika era. I feel like by the late 80's they saw the end coming and wouldn't have been spending so much on spying and the cold war. They might have voluntarily called home some spies and scaled back those operations.
