The Daniel Mays character is no Richard Kimble...Instantly creepy and dislikable, from the very first episoe, to the last.

Why? I've already seen it. But I agree it dragged on,giving a totally distorted view of probation practice (I am an ex-probation officer and a lifer would not have been given to Paula given her past experience,the senior usually supervises them) and the ending was indeed far-fetched and tagged on though you should have added SPOILER in the Subject box. I think I'd rather see RANGO than DIE HARD WITH A SEQUEL.
I found the first two episodes really interesting and thought provoking. Admittedly though, I am no expert on the probation service. Minifie, I would be interested to hear more of your opinion on what its really like. I found it interesting to think about how a long-term prisoner would cope with people's opinions of him on the outside
