So bad, it's good.

My wife and I love this show.

It's obviously staged and 100% fake, but the acting and the situtions are so incrdibly bad that it's impossible not to laugh and enjoy it.

I vacillate between thinking it's too stupid to watch, to feeling the way you and your wife do. I mean it's LAUGH OUT LOUD ridiculously fake and stupid, but at the same time it pisses me off that they're trying to pass it off as being real.

I agree with you on that. The fact that they are trying to pass it off as real (and that some people might believe it) is a bit disturbing.

I was done when I saw the guy walk out the deli with a bigass hunk of meat and walked to the pawn shop lol.

I just discovered this show. I was flipping throw the channels and it was about a vegan restaurant that though they might be serving meat. OMG within the first 5 minutes, when the guy tells the customer he can get her real chicken, I was laughing my head off. It looked so fake it's too funny. The episode I'm watching now is about some Italian restaurant that delivery guys have been getting complaints on. They show a dude eating a da*n sandwich out of the bag, this is too funny. I can't even breath this is too funny. I usually don't like fake reality shows like this but my gosh this is comedy gold.

I HATE this stupid show.... but I can't stop watching! Please, someone pluck out my eyeballs! Save me from myself!

I managed pizza restaurants for years. I watch this show just to see the ideas they come up with. I know it's fake reality but I have to laugh at some of the situations that come up. A lot of the things that happen really do happen in restaurants but not quite so blatantly. At least as far as I ever saw. Fun entertainment tho.

Yeah, if you want to get the real scoop on how the whole thing plays out behind the scenes and before they start shooting, Google the articles that were written about the episode where the guy was selling the BBQ restaurant's "secret" BBQ sauce recipe.

They ended up having to abort the taping at the original restaurant when the owner didn't like the phony story, so they had to find another BBQ restaurant that would agree to allow them to make up a fake storyline about the selling off of their "secret sauce" recipe.

Your wife and yourself have a palette that wouldn't be able to tell you if you're eating soup or diarrhea.

All "reality" TV programs are fake. Though this fakery is a cut above the rest! From interviews with previous actors, to the fact that the faces of the culprits aren't blurred. I mean, seriously. Who would sign off on being embarrassed on international TV? Nobody would agree to this. Even for a cash sum. Most would opt for anonymity. Who would willing put their futures in jeopardy? That alone is all one needs to know this an entertainment program. Nothing more. It is illegal to show them on a television program without permission. Most would just say, " Screw you, you don't have my permission!" Boom!

The first season was kind of fun as, in spite of the bad acting, the situations seemed to have some relevance to things that might actually happen in a restaurant.

However, the last two seasons have presented the most contrived and unrealistic situations yet, and I can't even watch for grins and giggles anymore.

I'd like to be a pessimist, but this is a luxury I cannot afford.

You didn't laugh at the episode where the frat brothers steal kegs of beer and scam huge orders of food?

Not even during the reveal when Trevor, frat boy, manager and ring leader, turns up with lipstick on and nobody comments on it???

reply

Holy crap, this show is still on the air?

I stopped watching quite a long time ago, I can't believe they are still making new episodes. Haven't they run out of fake situations to parody by now?

I almost need to set my DVR to record, just to see how absurd the set-up's have become. They have to be scraping the very bottom of the barrel at this point.

Funny how nobody notices that suddenly there are cameras everywhere, there's always a new employee who within the first couple hours of working knows the "dirt" on certain co-workers, and there's always an abandoned building next to the restaurant for Charles "war room".
