Please get this piece of sh*t off the air

The WORST scripted reality ever (I work in the industry - this show is an insult). Foodnetwork.ca is running an all day marathon right now - I want to throw things at my TV. Thank goodness M3 is doing a Masterchef Junior marathon. Not leaps and bounds better, but it's leaps and bounds better. Made me change channels - sure I'm not the only one. This MD *beep* is like Sharknado on the Syfy network.

Can we get back to cooking and knowledge on the Food Network (Canada and the U.S.)? This kind of MD crap, as well as competition shows (Cutthroat Kitchen - please FN and Alton please bring back Good Eats!), makes me channel surf.

But that's just me - I like shows about food on the Food Network, not shows about winning something. I know that the U.S. has the Cooking Channel - WAYYY better, but we don't have that here.

agreed, mystery diners is complete trash. just atrocious, phony, shameful, embarrassing garbage. it makes me question the decency and intelligence of people in general. i want to throw things at my TV too when i see this on the screen. I don't understand how anybody can actually sit through this show and that asswipe Charles stiles, let alone that fact this show even exists and airs on television.

...but hey cutthroat kitchen is alright, pretty fun show actually. compleeeeetely different ballpark than mystery diners haha.

I agree - CK is in a different ballpark - I was just going off on a tangent. I want more shows about cooking, fewer about competition. That said, there is a lot of great talent on display in CK and Master Chef and Iron Chef (RIP) and Top Chef and Chopped (I realize that Master Chef and Top Chef are not FN shows). But beyond that, I'd really like to see chefs on TV cooking and inspiring - Bob Blumer, Laura Calder, Roger Mooking, Chuck Hughes, Michael Smith, Lynn Crawford, Susur Lee, Rob Feenie, Hugues Dufour, Martin Picard, etc., just teaching me stuff. And, wow, all the chefs I named - Canadian! The glory days of the Food Network went away ages ago - so sad. Like I said, similar to the Syfy network with Sharknado and wrestling. Awful programming. Tangentially (there's that word again!) - Syfy is bringing it back with The Expanse and Childhood's End. The Food Network needs to do the same - get back to their roots. Good Eats was as good as it gets. I learned more from that show than anything. I'd rather watch infinite repeats of that than a single episode of Mystery Diners.

If it was a real hidden camera show they would have to blur out customers faces. Unless they sign a contract.

This is the best fake reality show ever!!! I work with one of Australia's most successful "reality" show and everything is fake to some extent. At least this one dosnt try, it's horribly awesome :-)
