I Actually Liked This

The music was a little too over the top, and the CGI/effects were reallyyyy bad, but I liked how the movie itself was! Kept me interested! Not scared, but I definitely wanted to keep watching to see where it was going to go... I only started watching it because of Charles Dance, who, like in GOT, delivers some funny smart ass comments :) . (Ex: "I won it at a raffle" ha!)
The leading actress was very good, as well as the head nurse, and the supporting characters were all pretty solid. I'd like to see a prequel to it actually, to see how Patrick was before the 'event'.
Overall, I'd suggest a watch! Definitely better than a lot of other movies on Netflix!

I was surprised by the low ratings on this. I've seen much worse.

I liked it more than the rating and comments here show, too. It was unique compared to most other horror movies (and yes, I know it is a remake; I now want to see the original, if I can find it).

The ending was a bit weak, but that isn't unusual for these kinds of films; most horror films have endings that seem to show the writers don't know what to do to conclude the movies.

I'm also partial to Australian, and other foreign films in general, too. They seem to have a different sensibility than American films do. That's not to say I don't like American films; I do. I just like foreign films as well.

Overall, I think this was better than the other comments, and the rating, indicate. I gave it 7 stars.

I agree and gave it 7 stars. I saw the original movie in 1978 at the cinema in Sydney and this is just as good with better production values.

Ditto from me. I also gave it a 7 and liked it way more than I thought I would. Would love to see the original one day.

The acting was very good, but what a strange movie! I found the old-school nurse uniforms and old medical equipment to stretch my boundaries of belief. And they didn't flesh out how his telepathy worked well enough in my opinion. I get telekinesis, but through phones? That was a bit wonky.

It was terribly over the top. I haven't seen the original, but so many scenes just made me cringe. I love horror movies, but this felt like watching a Roadrunner cartoon. And not in a good way. The plot was probably OK in the 70s, but it's just too silly for a modern horror movie.
