This just feels like a bad version of the Australian show

If I hadn't watched the aussie original I am sure I would have found this better, but after watching the original show, watching the comedy central remake just feels... cheesy.

I mean for starters, I hate how they tell you what they're going to review before they review it. One of my favorite things about the australian show was the guessing game they had you playing half the time when it wasn't obvious, and it made it pretty fun to see what the review turned out to be. That, and the fake documentary style just feels far more heavily produced in the comedy central version. While a lot of the extras in the original show didn't come off as paid actors it almost feels painfully obvious how the comedy central show is just scripted and full of paid actors.

Finally there's just the writing that seems to kill it for me. I might have been able to let all this earlier stuff slide if the writing was still entertaining, sort of like how I still preferred the american version of the office over the british one despite feeling less like a documentary, but the writing in this show just comes off as a bit lazy. Finally, why do these shows always feel some need to add a random token "hot chick" with no real personality in these shows? It felt totally forced and unnecessary.

Overall I give review 2 out of 5 stars.

Really? I think besides IASIP, Review is one of the best written comedies on television right now.
