In order to attract (young/teenage) female viewers the studios discovered, long ago, that a strong and 'empowered' female lead is useful.
If you want to insert a female lead with unrealistic 'manly' qualities such as extreme strength and a sense of humour then, in order to avoid putting male (or anyone looking for some semblance of reality) viewers off, all you have to do is make her fit and pretty. Male film viewers are very easy to please I'm afraid!
Super strong, hilariously funny 'men with boobs' are a permanent fixture I'm afraid. I feel sorry for the young women of the real world who try to live up to these role models with their perfect bodies and active lifestyles, all while trying to keep neat hair and nails. :-)

She was absolutely GREAT. I only have seen her before in a horror film 'Snow Beast' and I wasn't impressed to say the least.
She was a most likeable character here. Tough and ruthless when needed but clearly a girl with a good heart.
And It's a movie about Zombie Osama and other Taliban zombies. I think bad ass female heroine teenage girl is not a problem in a film like that.
We have men kicking ass in pretty much any action film. I would love to see some more girls. Those are movies, not reality. If you want 100% reality, then go and watch security cameras at the nearest mall...
