Weird !

Don't these people ask where their neighbor is or where the baby sitter is ? What a bunch of idiots they are !!!!!

reply

Yeah, you'd think at least the brother that slept with the babysitter would want to see her again and therefore ask about her.

reply

Yeah, and eventually they might need her to babysit again, so you'd think the parents would've called her and wondered why she wasn't answering. Or maybe the babysitter's family would've reported her missing, and the Gates family would've been contacted because their house was where she was last seen.

Plus, it was weird how the exterminator guy had Kayla sign before he did anything. It seemed like the writer did that just so there was a convenient explanation for why no one in the family saw him again. Also, I can't remember if there was an explanation for where the guy's truck went after he got killed.

The old lady, the babysitter and the exterminator all must've had no friends or family to wonder where they went. The exterminator must have been self-employed or had a really laid back boss. Maybe after dumping the victims' vehicles, Webber just took a taxi back to the house.

My theory is they were also attic dwellers.

I think a scene or two explaining this probably ended up on the cutting room floor to get this turd under 90 minutes. If anything, I think the best explanation otherwise is just "time". There wasn't enough time for any of the people to have been reported missing or suspicion to be aroused.

For at least three (the babysitter, the old crone, and his ex-wife), they were assumedly single (judging by the exterminator's demeanor, it wouldn't surprise me if he was a bachelor as well). The babysitter seemed like a flake and the old crone lived alone, so those two could easily go missing a week or so before someone became suspicious. The other two (the ex-wife probably) had jobs that would raise questions earlier, but I just don't think enough time had passed for them to raise serious questions. Where he dumped the cars and van was more interesting to me.
