Autotune

too much autotune!

is anyone else annoyed by this? i'm talking about the female vocals in the trailer. do people even notice?

reply

I didn't watch the trailer so I'm not sure, but I actually felt the movie could have done with some autotune in places. I liked it overall, but when Hannah Murray was singing I think my ears bled a little bit.

DonĀ“t agree. As a pure effect it was pretty cool in the nineties. Cheers' autotune effect sounded amazing in Believe. (And she didn't need it for correcting false notes) But beside that, you are quite right. Autotune as a songsaver is ridiculous. Singers shouldn't use it and concerts should always be live!

Live concerts... are you serious? I was dumb struck when I snagged front row seats to Phantom of the Opera only to then realize that at certain points the folks or stage were lip syncing... And you expect a mere singer to actually sing... Good lord, next you'll be expecting politicians to tell the truth.
