Really good with caveats!

Hallmark Channel churns out so many movies these days that they all kind of blur together, but Pumpkin Everything is different. The focus of the story is the relationship between a granddaughter and her grandfather (an absolutely HUGE role for Michael Ironside), and the actual romance with an old friend becomes a subplot that seems almost tacked on. I haven't seen every Hallmark movie ever made, but I really don't recall anything like this before.

The caveats relate to the issue of time. Michael Ironside's character has two major injuries that he seemingly recovers from in a matter of hours. The movie is never too clear about how much time is passing in the character's lives, and the "Foliage Festival" seems to last for weeks. I actually did enjoy the movie, but I wish the writers wouldn't just assume that their audience doesn't care about these issues.
