No 'nuisance' gators, just nuisance people

This is not a knock against Paul and Jimmy (I want a hat like his, BTW!) and the rest of the crew, who seem like awesome people. It just makes me sad though that innocent alligators are labeled a nuisance and a menace, when it's often the fault of people doing stupid things like: feeding the alligators (illegal & it makes them dangerous to humans) and encroaching on their territory. Let the gators be!

What I don't understand is, people who buy property along waterways in south Florida and then when a gator shows up they freak out. They want it removed.

Some of the locations look like places where there will always be alligators around. What's the point of having one single gator removed? Seems like it will just happen over and over. How can they think because one gator is removed from their canal they are now safe? But they say that. "Oh thanks, now I can let my baby girl swim again." haha

Would you swim in a canal in south Florida? I sure wouldn't.

Considering it's free....

I don't think it is free.

But my point is, the alligators have been in south Florida since time began. It's like the people who buy a house along a railroad line and then complain the trains make noise.

If a gator is on your property, you can either wait for it to leave or wait for it to do some sort of damage....

Most of the complaints I see -- and I do watch the show, and I enjoy it -- the alligator is lurking in a waterway -- a canal or pond or lake -- and the complainant is worried the gator is eventually going to attack them, one of their kids or a family pet.
