How to approach The Last of Us movie (video)

This video looks at ways to approach the Last of Us movie. The Last of Us is an incredible game and the movie needs to be perfect in order to carry over the wonderful narrative. This video looks at this subject under several headings.

I believe that the right approach for the movie adaptation would be to have a talented cast and crew who care of what they are doing and are wanting to make the best adaptation possible that would be willing to end what is called the "video game curse."

Simply put...don't.

This is going to be just like reading a book and then seeing the movie. You will NOT get the same feeling by watching this movie no matter how good it may be. Guaranteed it will not be the same experience. But like hollywood does they have to make a film of anything that will make some money because god knows they couldn't write a story this original on their own!

I think the right way to adapt this would be to turn it into a 8-10 episode Netflix miniseries. I'd love that. Then again the game already is like playing through a 10 hour movie so I doubt we'll ever see a tv/movie adaptation.

I bought the remastered version a few days ago and It's been some years since I've played it and the game just sucked me in once again. Still the best damn game I have ever played.

Who should star in it, do you think?

Someone here mentioned Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Joel, I think that at least lookswise he'd be a pretty perfect choice. But my first choice for Joel would be Josh Brolin, he has the right attitude I think. I Can't think of any young actresses who could play Ellie, Ellen Page is obviously too old now. Bradley Cooper would be perfect for Tommy.
