Who plays Tesla

If Tesla is in this film I hope they cast him right. They've already done well with Cumberbatch as Edison. My choices for Tesla would be:

Christian Bale
Michael Fassbender
Gary Oldman
Danil Day-Lewis

tesla is a charlatan.

One day Tesla was a genius, the next day he was a crackpot.

Ages ago I read it was Jake Gyllenhaal but now I don't see him anymore here ... did he refuse the role?

reply

Adrien Brody ! would be so excellent as Nikola Tesla, the lanky long hands, sharp skinny features.

"You stupid, ignorant son of a bitch dumb bastard!"
Gene Wilder - Silver streak

reply

Tesla is about a decade younger than Edison.... They need an actor in his 20s or 30s.

Acccording to Deadline Nicholas Hoult is going to play Tesla.

I think Robert Sheehan wouldve been a better fit: more talented, more convincing as a genius, not to mention closer in Tesla's long and lanky looks.

Nicholas Hoult is not convincing as a super clever person in KILL YOUR FRIENDS (a sort of 'American Psycho' wannabe film) nor is he a convincing Beast in the X-men films, who's supposed to be the inventor of all those gadgets. Since he hasnt managed to portray super-smartness this might end badly (mind you I'm not dissing him - he's great in A SINGLE MAN, so he can play 'emotional intelligence'). And to be a third genius, next to Michael Shannon and Benedict Cumberbatch - well, they really need someone who can hold up to those two scene-stealers.

I don't think he is convincing in any of those films. Disappointed at the choice. Hope it works out as really looking forward to this film.
