The Living Robotics scam (spoilers follow)

Christian deals only with shady companies, which includes Living Robotics apparently.

So what is the scam at Living Robotics that he uncovered? And if Lamar Blackburn was behind it, why on earth did he allow his sister to hire Christian in the first place? Finally, if Lamar was gonna have his sister snuffed, why wait until Christian basically solved the puzzle? Why not off-her at the first hint she wanted to hire a forensic accountant?
