Um.... What will happen when.....

Damien killed the main villains and destroyed their facility. In the end he "died" when he stopped taking those special pills so that the victims mind could retake the body. I suspect from the perspective of the other person it would be like being in a super deep coma and then coming to, would probably be very disorienting.

He no longer had access to the facility (and they were like pharmacists giving him is weekly dose of the pills) and thus could not get the pills anymore. His closest friend solved that problem for him by having the pills chemically analyzed so that they could be duplicated.

The thing is what will happen to the OTHER rich people who were not aware that this disaster would happen? I would assume being wealthy they could find a black market laboratory to duplicate the pills if they had at least one left. But any rich person in a new body who had taken their final dose with the intention of going back for a "refill" would be SOL.

This could result in some of them ending up like Damian (but without doing it on purpose). But what would happen to the original owners of the bodies? If months have gone by and you suddenly effectively wake from a coma in a new identity how are you supposed to function. It would be way beyond disorienting and to boot if the other mind committed any crimes during those months you would be held liable. You would not know how to use the new identity either, it would be a mess.

Sounds like an interesting sequel.

Those dying rich people made sure their new identities "inherited" their money. So those disoriented people effectively waking from "comas" would all be VERY wealthy. However, all of their friends and family would wonder what the "amnesia" was about.

I really want a sequel. Self Less was a fascinating concept.

I wonder if it could be done some day?

Yeah, but their new identities were fake. Kittner would've inherited money, but Mark didn't.

I'm better than you.
