Simply horrible film

(1) The basic premise is incredibly ridiculous. I believe in the suspension of disbelief, but there are limits. Makes me wonder if there are viewers who don't have the slightest clue about genetics. And the thing is, I try to allow every film one whopper of a diversion from reality, so long as it plays the rest out logically. But this kept piling ridiculous *beep* on ridiculous *beep* Uh uh.

(2) The acting is pretty much consistently awful (the main character's acting was tolerable)--and I'm not usually one to complain about bad acting. Usually I can get past that and go with the flow, kind of the way you grow to accept talking animals in a movie. But this acting was past that point. I mean, I've seen movies where nobody had really acted before, and they did a fine job. It's almost as if the filmmakers were deliberately casting bad actors.

(3) The second--I mean the very second--I saw the female lead, a huge chunk of what was to come popped into my mind. Not a good sign.
