Such a low,score?

While not the best western it definitely didn't seem to me that it should be below 6. I do think it would've been much better if it had been longer or even a miniseries. Actually I could definitely see a miniseries in the the story.

I think Longer. Not just so cut in the editing room I have seen Clips & photos shots of other scenes not on the film version this shows longer version could of been shown I think the instructions from the film company was completely wrong as to shorten this film & the othrr new western Forsaken Technically the films are good but some People in marketing should hang for the very bad decisions this person was not did not understand the Western Genre properly

Are you retarded?

I agree, esecially with Forsaken. It seems like there was so much more that could have made it real good.

"I am on intimate terms with the desert..."

Anyone know the reference?

I like a good western, but this one disappointed me, despite the strong cast. My DVD box tells me it's a 94 minute film which felt like it dragged out over 2 hours. Much of the second half of the film is filled with close - up conversations between Dan and Jane in near darkness. (This, in spite of some beautiful exterior visuals from earlier in the film.) I was actually looking forward to the flashbacks, so I could see something. Then we get what should have been the spectacular finale gunfight, which is again filmed in close-up from virtually the one perspective and again in near darkness (briefly lit up with the fire). Beats me what was going down much of the time.

It gets no more than 5/10 from me, which is a pity, because I think there probably was the basis of a good oater there somewhere.🐭

Yes, this was actually very good western. Gritty, violent and emotional slow burn character study. Good looking visuals and top notch acting. Flashbacks were perhaps used in excess.

7/10

Reminds me about what Eastwood said in "Josey Wales"... "I guess we all died a little in that damn war"...

I agree, I saw the film at the theater, I thought it was a very good western. I'm glad to see some positive reactions to the film, finally making it to the boards.

I loved it. I gave it a 10 to help offset that unfair score.

My favorite moment was at the end when Jane had her gun pointed at McGregor. All I could think was "Shoot him in the leg!!!!!" And boom, she did it.

The movie kept me engaged and I felt for the main character. They didn't show too much of her being a sex slave but you can only imagine what she went through. I'm glad she got her revenge.
