So two teens steal $500

just so they can put graffiti on an apple? I have to admit this is a new twist on the deliquent black youth meme. There has to be a better way to tell a coming of age story without being criminals.

Agreed. The soundtrack reeks of boredom. I'd prefer to see a compelling, engaging indie film that clearly has crossover appeal. This story seems short on plot. It's amazing how marketers continue to use quips and quotes from critics and unknown pundits alike to bolster interest in a film. Just because Ebert likes it doesn't mean moviegoers will. He's not part of the mainstream mindset for movies.

The two commenters above think they are who, exactly? They seem not to have seen the movie but they want to sound like film executives saying "no." Is this annoying or just pathetic? Both?

looks good.

You speculate far too much about the posters. Their message is clear, it's a *beep* film.

Its not a coming of age tale. The director said himself no genre just a movie. And it has the charm of daze and confused with the grittiness of a spike lee joint. So when your peanut galley isnt having a gathering check it out. Ya bish

Every movie has an genre. Even this one. Check imdb. What is charming about being a deliquent/criminal? Oh I get it that's their environment. Yeah right.

Plz. This is nowhere near Spike's older films which dealt with specific hard hitting issues of the times.

What a dick.

I agree with him though. They weren't particularly likable and it didn't help that they were willing to scam anyone they came in contact with. Have fun dealing with a loudmouth girl like that or a guy that'll start rifling through your things when you leave him alone for 5 seconds.

With that said, I've always been interested in graff culture in NYC so that got me through it. It's not a bad movie but it's hard to be invested in those characters, that's all I'm saying.
