Uninspired

Couldn't help being feeling that this is a bit like a film school students film but full length with high production values. This could have been a lot more interesting but it never gets any atmosphere going. The tone should have changed as the film progressed. There is no build up or release of tension. Sympathetic, sure but nothing else. The dialogue is Limp so the actors don't really have much to go on. Too many pregnant pauses (no pun intended). I think it comes down to the scenario and the directing and I fear it may have been badly edited. The actors tried their best and did a fairly good job considering. The recurring horse/mustang in the desert is a bit too obviously symbolic or metaphoric. All the characters are actually quite similar. Maybe thats partly the problem... everyone is so damn quiet! lol.

I disagree; your pun seems intentional

'There are no beautiful surfaces without a terrible depth'
