Immaculate Conception...sorry I have to do this....

I get so frustrated by the misuse of the term "immaculate conception." (See the IMDb summary.) In the Catholic church, immaculate conception is referring to Mary's conception (conceived and born without original sin) not Jesus's conception. See the wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immaculate_Conception

In the long run, really not that big of deal, but it's a weird pet peeve of mine and I couldn't resist making this post.

The OP is correct. Immaculate Conception does not refer to Jesus, but to Mary being born free from Original Sin. The Jesus thing was Virgin Birth. Easy mistake, and often made.

Personally, I learned that from George Carlin, since I never went in for that particular brand of mythology.

Not mythology, but historicity.

Then change the synopsis yourself and stop complaining.

I did know that IC refers to Mary and VB to Jesus, but I looked it up to see what term they would have used instead. While she might have thought her pregnancy/child was an IC, too, they are using the term to mean she conceived without sex so I'm not sure if there is a religious (not scientific) term for that except what I found in my quick wiki search which found only the "perpetual virginity of Mary." I can't see them working that one into the explanation very well. And "virgin birth" doesn't work because there had not yet been a birth. I guess they just decided that since even many Catholics don't know the difference that people would know what they meant. It's a little like the dilution of a brand (e.g. Kleenex). It's been used that way so much now everyone just knows what they mean anyway unless it's an actual church-issued program.

Holy $hit! I was born and raised Catholic and I never knew this. How could I have missed such an egregious doctrine? From whence doeth such a doctrine come? And to what end?

You sir/ma'am have just educated someone with the internet. Congratulations and my sincerest thanks!
