Not realistic at all.

I'm not even talking about immaculate conception here. Let's talk reality, mormon girl goes off to las vegas, doesn't get raped? Incredibly lucky this girl was really gullible with no common sense to aid her. She also stumbles over her long lost father conveniently. Because this happens all the time. You just stumble over your biological parents. Why is her bio dad so accepting of her boyfriend? He doesn't feel the least bit preoccupied for her safety with this dude? Hard to believe. She's 15, didn't her bio dad just kidnap her from her mother? Can't you only get married with consent of your parents when you're underage? It was kind of absurd that she believed the tape got her pregnant but obviously I have to let that slide. She doesn't seem to know a lot of things as a mormon.
Overall a good film but I had to pretend like any of this could actually happen for an hour and a half. That was hard to do. I liked the dialogue. Aiken and Culkin gave good performances its a shame I want to see more from aiken.

Being disoriented and guillable doesn't guarantee a rape. She was being watched by her brother and the guys she stumbled upon were immature, but not evil.

She also stumbles over her long lost father conveniently.

I agree, but in this case, being unrealistic was necessary, because it was the only way to show her stumbling with reality when least expected, which served as symbolism to accept her pregnancy.

Why is her bio dad so accepting of her boyfriend? He doesn't feel the least bit preoccupied for her safety with this dude?

Her dad was free spiritted and served the purpose of establishing a clear difference between the freedom given to her by her biological dad and the repressive culture she has been living in.

She's 15, didn't her bio dad just kidnap her from her mother?

I don't know how it works in Utah, but it can't be kidnapping when the other parent consents. We see how Rachel's mother gave her the keys so she could run away. It's reasonable to assume that she was even more willing to let her daughter go away with her own father.

Can't you only get married with consent of your parents when you're underage?

What marriage do you refer to? Paul was probably the one that figured in the civil registry (it this is how it's called in the US). She was marrying with her mother's consent and his, as for Clyde, they never actually married.

It was kind of absurd that she believed the tape got her pregnant but obviously I have to let that slide.

Many rape victims are in denial. Her case was even worse being a Mormon who's been raped by her [alleged] father.

I honestly don't think "realistic" is what this film was trying to be.
