Not sure what to make of it, but it was fun

I didn't read any of his work, so whenever I see "Lovecraftian" as a description I am not sure exactly what to expect, but body horror and evil spirits etc..

This movie felt like a guilty pleasure, like the kind of thing that would come on cinemax late at night when we were kids.

It had some sexy sex, and over the top gore, and a general pulp-y vibe.

I saw a bunch of promos for it on social media, and it grabbed my interest. I can't say I loved it, but it was a sugary not-too-deep fun time.

I took a chance on it at home it and it was worth it. It was never dull. Demon possession, erotic, horror, shock, campy, daring, good music score. Judah Lewis's acting in playing Asa really helped the film, in my opinion. I turned my eyes at certain scenes, laughed at others, eye popped at others, and jaw dropped at others. I know it didn't get very good reviews but I thought it was a lot of fun to watch. 7 of 10 for me.
