Aubrey Plaza should have been the LOVE INTEREST

Just reposting:

I think *Aubrey should've been the love interest instead because she IMO has more of a romantic chemistry from what little I saw in that bar scene with Chris in the trailer than Michelle Monaghan.

Who's Audrey Plaza?

I do know who Michelle Monaghan is and she is part of the reason I even watched it.

It's Aubrey actually, not Audrey, as you probably could have guessed by looking at the cast list.

In a way, she kind of was.

However, her qwerky character is only there for comic relief..and did make me laugh. So I disagree.

Okay, I just recently saw this movie and I was correct about Aubrey.

I was disappointed at the lack of romantic chemistry between Michelle and Chris seeing as this movie was a romcom. Michelle was miscast and her character seemed more like Chris' older sister, and Aubrey should've been the leading lady. Chris and Aubrey had better romantic chemistry that was evident in the bar.

Chris' character fell crazy in love, but I couldn't see why as there was nothing special about Michelle's character. Bridget Jones and Vivian from Pretty Woman, I can see why the men fell madly in love with these characters, because I enjoyed these characters. Aubrey's character Mallory was far more interesting than Michelle's boring/bland character. If only the third act went with Mallory and Chris' character instead, it could've salvaged a flat movie.

This movie had potential, but wasn't well executed as it could have been. I did enjoy the scenes with Chris' friends, co-worker, and grandpa.

I don't really like Aubrey, but yeah definitely they had more chemistry, I was hoping for a plot twist

I thought she did a good job. I was kinda hoping that they'd play out her conflict a bit more. It didn't make sense that her character didn't get what she wanted. She didn't deserve what she wanted any less that the narrator.

I thought the same thing. I actually love romantic comedies and romance but the Chris/Michelle thing was ridiculously predictable and uninteresting. It would have been a much better movie if the relationship had been between Aubrey and Chris.

reply

I agree, I prefer her over the one he ended up with.

reply

I was actually rooting for that to be a twist and them ending up together.

reply

I thought they were going to end up together as well. It was a little awkward and rude how he just kind of left after she confessed to liking him. His face of disgust lol I guess that was just the character
