they treat their extras like CRAP!

I just got off set and I had to come on this board and complain. I will be contacting SAG-AFTRA tomorrow. They made us all lie on our vouchers and say we had lunch at a certain time but most of us ate later (which we should have gotten meal penalties). We were all late to lunch because they made a drive to a 2nd base camp...so basically because they made us drive again it cut into us getting fed. Then they had us out in the rain with no place to put our stuff and to get food we had to go around the corner to the next block. This might not sound bad but it was late at night and pouring with rain. Myself and others pay a lot of money to be SAG and we are supposed to be treated like human beings. Everyone is calling the union line tomorrow and I hope they get fined.

I wouldn't have complained but when I signed out and they made us lie about the times on our vouchers...that was the last straw. They are screwing us because they want to be cheap.

did production get in trouble? I heard about that set and that some people called SAG.

What company were the extras from? Not Central right?

No its wasn't Central...Can't remember the name of the Extras company. To top it off there were also a lot of elderly people that day...I felt so bad for them because they had to sit in the rain. It really was ridiculous. I never complain about stuff like this, but it was pretty extreme.

It is jaw-dropping, but lefty showbiz has to be the most unequal, stratified, rich-get-richer profession on the planet. The way the stars are treated vs everyone else is right out of a Bourbon court.

I worked on it and had no problems. Got like 2 meal penalties and a smoke bump.

then you were lucky...they might have gotten in trouble because a lot of people complaining.

If you don't sign they won't pay you. So you have to sign....which is how the screwed up. Imagine your boss forcing you to sign something and if you don't you won't get paid.

ahhh it is a real job pancakes328. We worked the hours and were not paid correctly. If we didn't sign out with them we wouldn't get paid. What would you do in that situation? after working 12 hours?
