The tears flowed like the mighty Mississippi last night when Dr. Po had to put down his beloved Great Dane. The entire family has my sympathies and condolences.

shareI don't believe I can have any more dogs. Our last one, a wonderful little guy we got from the local humane society, died two years ago. He was my constant companion and the best dog I ever had. I was so deeply affected that I lost some of my hair. When I asked my doctor about why my hair was thinning, he asked if I had had a traumatic experience. I said, yes, my dog died. He said that was probably the cause. It's called telogen effluvium. My hair has come back now. I love dogs, but I can't go through that again. Poor Pols. It is so hard to lose a pet.
