So what was the girl's deal?

It was clear to me that she was imagining Quinn because he did not have any grenade splatter on his shirt, so it really wasn't any surprise when he vanished into thin air.

But I didn't really get the point of her character - was she meant to represent people who delude themselves into thinking they are fighting for something important?

That's what I thought.

I assume she was talking to herself because she was playing out how she thought the conversation with Quinn would come out when she won. I remember doing that myself, trying to outline exactly what I would say to a boy I liked, and of course imagine him saying the perfect response back to me.

I was thinking similar things and i think she was just thrown in there as a distraction to the boys .Her purpose diminished once that quinn character got thrown out then to pretend like he was still there didn't make any sense ,because he was not actually dead .Why didn't she just find out where he lived and go there when she was "getting juice".Anyways she was cute i think the actress playing the girl was super cute .
