How much fictionalizing is allowed...

...before you have to actually use a different name for the main character? At what point do you say, this isn't really Chet Baker's story - the details are pretty far afield - so we won't use Chet Baker's name? Where's that line?

Just asking the question. I don't pretend to know the answer.
