Everybody's nutty for Casey Affleck...Ethan shoulda got the nom(!)

OK. I ranted on the "MANCHESTER" board.
Now I'm ranting here.

Ethan Hawke did an outstanding job with this role. Purists don't dig the story line. Those of us with passing knowledge on Chet? I'm satisfied. Like all great musicians chained to drugs, there will be a spectacular ending (Jaco, Cooke, Gaye, Brian Jones) He was a rock star before there were rock stars -- only he played jazz.

Ethan does a great job showing the end of Chet's descent. Sorry the Academy didn't agree. Casey Affleck by comparison?

Doesn't compare.

I haven't seen Manchester yet, but Hawke is excellent here. I would've loved to have seen him get a nomination for this.
