Good grief. 5 minutes of movie, then 5 minutes of commercials. The same commercials over and over. The movie wasn't terrible, but not great enough to sit through all of the interruptions. I may watch it later sans commercials. I may not.
shareI agree too many commercials. But A&E had to make back their investment and make a profit. They had some A list celebs that don't come cheap plus their advertising and production was a ton. I don't know what A&E charges for a 30-sec nationwide spot but probably $500k or more.
shareI agree and keep trying to think of an appeasement A&E could offer to both viewers and sponsors, at least where their movie mini-series are concerned. Maybe the initial showing on each night of the premier could be shown without commercials; the repeats of the first segment of the mini-series (aired later the same evening/night) could then contain commercials. The same would then go with the next installment(s) on each additional evening.
It's not a great solution, but would go further to maintain viewers rather than TiVo the mini-series or become indignant and not watch the thing at all.
