Why all the negativity?

I just watched parts 1 & 2, and while it definitely wasn't perfect, I did enjoy it. Mostly I would say that the casting was great, and the base storyline was intriguing. I was a little bit surprised to see all the backlash on here. Granted, having not read the book or seen the movie from the 70's, I could see being frustrated if this version deviated greatly. Speaking strictly on performance, I thought Coma was great.

What bothered everyone so much? Was it the loss of continuity, or the differences from the other works? It didn't strike me as this horrible mess it's described as on the boards.

Many people live in a delusional world where they think they could have done it better.

Even with hindsight being what it is, most of these people could not do anywhere near as good a job as was done on this show. Not that it was any great shakes but still, you understand.

It was a well casted movie which I why I watched it because there is no way to make this kind of secret-conspiracy movie, believable. But the constant improbabilities as well as a heroine who doesn't have the necessary basic common sense needed to not burn her hand on coffee, let alone take down a maniacal pact of "doctors" that harvest human beings. it was as well acted as schlock can be acted I will give it that.

I thought it was really good. I remember seeing Robin Cook's Invasion with Luke Perry many years ago so I expected this one would probably be a bit cheesy (which it was in some parts) but over all it was enjoyable to me. I never saw the one from the 70's either. I would like to see it.

No idea but within 25 minutes I said - look I can't watch any more of this and FFWDed through the remaining episodes at X8 and was still able to tell exactly what was going on.

Fact is it's not a story that can be sustained for over two hours, at best it's a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode.

There is a degree of negativity about this film, I would suggest, from folks who have seen the 78 version and I would add my two pennorth of negativity as well.
Another disastrous remake, messy over-complicated script, awful soundtrack. I can't think of anything good to say about it.

Lack of credibility, over the top, predictable twists, flashy high-tech gimmicks inserted here and there to make it look "modern" and plot holes galore.
I'm just guessing.
