Sienna Miller was completely miscast. She looked too angular, tan and old to play the gorgeously feminine Tippi. There is nothing the least bit sexually appealing about the anorexic Miller. First she bastardizes Edie Sedgewick & now Tippi. This 'performance' sucked.
I agree with all of you. I thought Sienna Miller did an amazing job. She got Tippi's elegant body movements down to a tee. And Tippi had such a distinct voice, it's hard to mimic, but I thought she mastered it quite well.
As far as looks are concerned, Sienna isn't an uncanny Tippi, BUT there are similarities. And I'd love love love to know who all you would've chosen to play her. HBO did very well to get Miller.
My sister believes that Sienna Miller is prettier than Tippi was. I at first I thought that Tippi was prettier than Sienna is. Now when I look at it more, I see that Sienna is just as beautiful but in a different way. There are different types of beauty and you know what they say. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I agree with you MissAngelCakes that HBO did a remarkable job choosing Sienna to play the young Tippi. I wouldn't know who else could have been a contender for that role. Maybe the actress that played in The Ring? Or maybe the actress that played in Drag Me To Hell? Sienna though was a wise choice.
I'm from this little rock called Staten Island.....
<The major problem,as with so many actresses of her generation who have made the jump from modeling, she seems not to understand that women in the past behaved differently, spoke differently and carried themselves differently, than those of today. Most modern actresses who have had little training tend to have only one trick in their acting locker and that is to play every character.> Spot On! It's amazing what passes as a 'great performance' nowadays.
