Anybody think Katie Chang was the weakest?

I keep reading reviews on here where people praise her, but I thought she was pretty dreadful. Some of her lines were delivered so awkwardly and unnaturally. I thought the rest of the cast did a pretty decent job of coming off as realistic, but I was just not feeling her.

i know what you're saying, but i thought she had a perfect balance between oblivious materialism and total manipulation. the shot of her in the mirror, with the twinkle in her eyes...she was a simplistic representation of the original character, but completely captured it i thought...

out by 16 or dead in the scene - but together forever.

Just saw the movie again last night, and I have to say I feel that she did the best job. Like you, I was particularly struck by the scene where she stares enraptured at herself in the mirror....wordless....really f------g good acting.

reply

No, she was second best. Or third. I really liked Marc and Emma.

MovieKid100's mom is a prostitute. One Direction sucks. You're Next failed. What else is new?

reply

No way. Her and Emma were the only good ones in the group.

I think Emma Watson is continuned to show that she can play other roles than Hermione Granger but lately it seems as though she is ditching her native british accent for an american one to become more accepted with the american audiences.

reply

It's probably easier to distance herself from Harry Potter by playing American roles. I remember watching her in Ballet Shoes. She was good as Pauline but I still kept thinking of Hermione.

I thought Katie Chang did a good enough job. I thought she was quite good in the scenes where she was being interrogated. And her delivery of "what did Lindsay say?" was really spot-on

I'm gonna die of long hair!

Katie Chang's wooden acting almost kind of worked for the character.

She seemed the most realistic to me, by underacting.

I thought she did a pretty good job. In a way, she's rather creepy in the way she portrayed Rebecca and her obsession with stealing other people's things.

For me, I don't know that there really was a weak link actor in this group. Emma, Claire, and Israel were probably the strongest for me.
