shareIt's a different idea completely, although anything Anthony Bourdain does has his own certain mark on it. Whereas No Reservations was about Tony spending some time in an area and exploring the culture, The Layover is more his idea of a conventional travel show: say you're in Taipei for 24 to 48 hours before catching your next flight, so what is there to do? Tony answers your questions. It's more about hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues than NR was.
I sometimes find myself in Chicago overnight between Amtrak trains, so the next time I plan a trip like this, I'm going to be sure and hunt up the Chicago episode of this show so I might get some new ideas about what to do while I'm in town.

"Oh, well" said Zanoni, "to pour pure water in the muddy well does but disturb the mud !"
NR was more than 24-36 hours.
