Both documentaries are similar. Came out in the same year. Which does everyone prefer? And why? Obviously the answer should be neither, in terms of both sets of kids got a rotten hand dealt to them by the justice system. But which do you think is the better made documentary?
shareWest of Memphis doesn't qualify as a good documentary, period, because like the Paradise Lost films that preceded it, it's not an unbiased account of the events. How could it be? One of the producers was one of the accused. These films weave deception and sometimes outright lie to the audience (the 12 hour interrogation which was actually 4). It's a shameless propaganda piece, not "journalism" in any form.
