I've been reading the whole TUNNELS books by Brian Williams ( it's still not finished yet) It's CLOSER,DEEPER, FREEFALL etc.. Well in those book we discover that Nazis are still alive and living like in the 40's in the center of earth. So the whole plot is has been taking from this. Also in the books you can access that them by going to antartica. Tunnels series is much older than this movie. I hope B.Williams will sue them.
shareI wouldn't put it past Asylum honestly but come on Nazis are the big thing in horror right now (especially if they're zombie Nazis, I've seen tons on Netflix alone) and the whole Center of the Earth thing is a pretty common idea as well. More than likely they just sat around an office saying "we need a Nazi Zombie movie, where can we set it?" and probably ran through a number of remote locations until they settled on the center of the Earth. Hell, knowing Asylum they probably have dart boards with different story elements and just randomly throw darts to pick what they're going to do.
