For me he's the most creative skateboarder of all time, such style and grace. He also seems to be a beautiful human being.
shareHe's truly inspirational. Just finished reading his autobio called Mutt: How to skateboard and not kill yourself. Such a fascinating guy who dealt with a lot of adversity through the years. The dude is friggin resilient to punishment. The guy stayed true to his art, his friends and himself.
shareNot a skater so not sure I would read his bio but he was the most interesting character in the film for me...his talent and his insight/intelligence really came through.
Maybe someone who read the bio or knows his story could comment:
I had a hard time discerning whether he resented his father or not. It seemed that he was getting swallowed up by "the game" and needed saving (time away) but it also seemed that also was placing some blame on his father for stifling his growth/career too??
Perhaps its a bit of both, so much confusion dealing with life in general at that age.
Yeah, growing up knowing who these guys were and roughly being the same age, this movie was excellent. Probably in my top 5 all time.
