Anice Inn

i spend a lot of time in Florida. I know how moisture, heat and humidity can make it difficult to keep mold and insects under control.

There is no excuse for a hotel to be FULL of mold, bedbugs, and killer bees.

It's a case of another hotel owner who obviously doesn't care and doesn't know what they're doing. The owner here kept claiming that she didn't know about the problems, and that the problems must have arisen in the past two weeks, which was obviously a lie since the problems had been there for months or years.

Is it that hotel owners now know about Hotel Impossible and only want them to come out so the hotel will get free stuff? These owners now don't want advice or help; they just want Anthony to renovate rooms and give them free furniture or linens.

Anthony might as well just turn the show into an exposé of hotels you should never stay in, because he is no longer finding people who are willing to work to better their hotels.

That has happened a few times now. I think they need to get the owners to pony up repair funds ahead of time, if they want to get the free makeover.

An example of a total scumbag owner was that nasty hag from Louisiana, who ran some kind of filthy hostel. She agreed to transfer the ownership and management of the hotel to her sons. Once the makeover was done, she told Antony to go F himself, and stayed in control of her hotel.

It seems like Bar Rescue gets more commitment from owners, but they have had some bad owners too. Restaurant Impossible is a joke, since they put a bare makeover of stuff from the local junkyards, and a lot of cheap decorations. Their budget is $10K, and sometimes it looks like they only spent around $1K.

We would love to see that, but I don't think any hotel owner would agree to being humiliated on TV. If they are going to expose their dirty laundry (sometimes literally) for the cameras, they'd want something in return.

I agree that some of these owners have this indifferent attitude or are ungrateful, and definitely don't belong in the hotel business.

This recent one with Anice Hotel was one of the worst cases we've ever seen on this show. The mold, killer bees and bedbugs and disgusting bathrooms were enough nightmares to spread across 3-4 episodes.

It was a nice touch how the show used horror music. It really was horrifying. I'm always surprised how brave Anthony is sometimes entering places with bedbug infestations. I always thought that those critters got in everywhere, no matter how careful you were, and he might take some back to his car, in his suitcases and then bring them home.
And I swear that's the same guy and dog sniffer they use in every episode. Do they travel the country with Anthony? 

I'd be willing to bet that Anthony doesn't bring any luggage into these places. After taking one look around and finding bedbugs, mold, or any other major problem, I'd be willing to bet that Anthony doesn't even sleep in these hotels! I certainly hope he has some sort of decontamination done on himself and the crew after they leave these places.

I was thinking the same thing. The pest-control guy and bedbug-sniffing dog might be always traveling with the crew now, or Anthony might take them along to any hotel that has had bedbugs mentioned on hotel review websites.

I *beep* hated the owner saying

"I did not know" as an excuse. I literally wanted to slap her stupid ass clueless face every time I heard her say that *beep*

This episode is great. Every second a new worse problem appears. Killer bees? lol

I am dead curious of what has happened since.

My favorite part of the episode was at the end when it said that Anthony filed a complaint with the state of Florida. She got her ass handed to her.

I cannot understand this that place hasn't been closed down by authorities. I would be screaming for the Dept of Health and Dept of Fair Trading. The stupid cow who said at the beginning that she was the owner and then revealed that there were other investors, if she was GM it was her job to manage and have the authority to spend on repairs. "I don't know" just didn't cut it and "I am not always here". Where the f__k are you suppose to be if you're managing a hotel that size. As a guest or potential guest, from the moment I saw the fountain, I wouldn't walk any further. I hope this show has a big audience to spread the word and also use travel posts to get the massage across. They just don't deserve to be owners.

To be honest, the first thing which came to my mind when i saw that episode was that this dump is just open because of some money laundering racket.
The so called "owner" sounded just like she was answering questions in front a senate subcomittee for RICO cases.

That hotel is on International Drive in Orlando. 5 minutes from Universal, 8 minutes from SeaWorld and 15 minutes from Magic Kingdom. It's probably makes more financial sense to sell it over repairing it.
