Successfully Cheating Death Scene After Scene?

I honestly didn't think anything could top Tom Cruise running from those Pod machines during the initial alien invasion from "War of the Worlds", but then John Cusack showed off his bad ass driving skills in a Limo seven years later.

Now we have the Rock, who's apparently just as skilled as Cusack was; but this time piloting a helicopter.

While I actually enjoyed the film for what it was, it would have been nice to dial it down a notch or two.

I can't think of a another cast of character's in the history of cinema that were so lucky to be alive, can you?

How about Vivica A. Fox (Jasmine) in Independence Day, somehow escaping a fireball that's consuming Los Angeles just because her, her son and her dog have gone into a side door in a tunnel and the fireball just conveniently roars past the open door? The only casualty there is a lightbulb! 

Good pick...

A lightbulb ha. Good point.

Well in reality the director wanted your mind locked in on seeing Alexandra at the pool in a bikini. Then all the other stuff that goes on wouldn't be a literal lock in to explain. I just wonder how you can remember anything past the pool scene to talk about.

Any other flicks...?

I agree, especially in "2012" during the limo and subsequent airplane scenes they cheated death like 10 times in 3 minutes, nobody is that lucky.

reply

Yeah, it was a little far fetched.
