Holy sh*t that was bad!

And to think the titans of acting - Hopkins and Kingsley - chose to star in this? Clearly somebody has something on them, they must've been blackmailed.

Well, it feels pretty much like an English language R-rated version of the German RTL TV series "Alarm Fur Cobra 11". It's entertaining and fast paced, and the stunt choreography and chases are excellent, so I don't think it's bad. However, as I said, it doesn't really feel like a "real" film and should not be approached as such. I'm not at all surprised at Ben Kingsley appearing in this - he was in an Uwe Boll film for god sake and he has been in a lot of crap. However, I'm much more surprised at Anthony Hopkins, although his screentime is pretty minimal and he probably knocked his scenes off in a couple of days.

Ben Kingsley is pretty amusing, and Anthony Hopkins although clearly slumming it, is still a worthy presence. Nicholas Hoult and Felicity Jones don't have that much screen time together, but they make an attractive young couple.

I certainly wouldn't say it's bad. It's entertaining for what it is, just don't take it too seriously.

reply

Yea it was certainly a painful watch, the only saving factor is Hoult turned the car chases into a comedy.
Hopkins and Kingsley I suspect are only keeping busy nowadays to occupy themselves, I wouldn't think they do it for money and fame.

Downloading this POS as we speak, I saw it on a popular download site and thought is that Sir Anthony Hopkins in the movie poster? WTF?

reply

Ok I just saw the movie, it was actually quite entertaining. Very predictable and cheesy, but still entertaining. Hopkins' & Kingsley's acting was strong as it always is. Kingsley was hilarious. Nichalas was decent and Felicity Jones was hollow like she always is. The plot was very cliché as was the chase scenes and gun battles. Worth a at least one viewing.

About 25 minutes in and I realised it looked like a dub, The edit just feels bad... that's a damn shame

when Hopkins character is asked in the end why he is doing all this and he answers: "its like trinity game, i have become death, destroyer of the worlds, that simple". like that was simple. so laughable. this whole film was

at every new encounter villains finding ingenious new ways to interrogate our hero and in the process dying themselves was one other memorable thing from all this

yep probably they have some dirt on Hopkins and thats how they made him participate in this movie. either that or this was his bold new narrative. speaking of which, it was very productive year for him so we can give him slack for this maybe. also other A rated actors probably joined movie because Hopkins was in it

Anthony Hopkins plays the identical twin of Hannibal Lecter in this movie...

an identical brother who was dropped on his head at birth and since gone full retard.
