The good, the bad and the ugly about TIE 88 (spoilers, obviously)

I rented the film, TIE 86 and TIE 88 on the back of the recent C4 TIE 90.

Amazing how many characters I'd forgotten. Anyway, TIE 88:

The good:

The real winter/Christmas atmosphere. It reminded me of those mid to late 80s Chistmases round a mate's house.

Vicky McClure and Joe Gilgun's acting.

Joe/Woody's hilarious off-cue swearing, particularly the liberal, inappropriate use of the C word in front of his boss and family.

Smell's almost palpable hurt/reaction to Shaun's betrayal. You really felt for the lass.

The actress that plays the nurse.

The bad:

Shaun. Afraid he went from sympathetic in the movie to an unlikeable whiny teenager in this one. Also, as has been mentioned in other posts, TT's acting style has not evolved. Not having a pop at him personally as he seems like a good lad in interviews. He just needs to try something different, if he's still even in the acting game.

The grim, GRIM overall tone, purely lingering on the misery. FFS LOL, Laugh Out Loud? Hardly.

The ugly:
That excruciating scene at the play, with the 'gang' taking the p%%% out of Shaun and co. It was cringeworthy, particulary 'Banjo'. And, as many others have said, why is Milky even bothering with someone who wanted in on his attempted murder in the film. Yes, people change, but nahh, not that much.
