7 Movie Reviews on an Unreleased Movie?

And all of the reviews are glowing? Really?

reply

They are obvious plants. I wouldn't take them seriously.

Take a look at the review history for them. This is the only film they've reviewed.

Yes, and it is completely ruining this site.
Getting rather ticked off to check out a movie and see it rated something close to 6, go watch it based on that and it being completely unwatchable (this movie was close to it for junk like the way he fixed the SUV & uncovering camera to undress in front of dad? That you just covered up? Uhm?).
When return to check the glowing reviews, they are one timers OR in one case, it was a person that went through and put out perfect reviews for all 3 movies some production company had been involved in "Bunny Productions" or something.
This is where an auto-monitoring script would come in handy; 25 or 30 clicks for a fake review and BAM, it is gone. If the person is also a 1st time reviewer,, account goes with it.

I saw the movie in Columbus, Ohio ( April 19, 2013) as part of the tour conducted by Renae and Tyler. They went to a number of cities where they presented the film and conducted a Q and A after the film. This accounts for reviews before the screening. Full disclosure, i am related to some of the people involved in the film, so I won't attempt a review. However, given the budget constraints, I believe that the film holds together quite well and would be of interest to those looking for a psychological thriller.

Tyler and Renae have been touring with the final cut on encrypted Blu-Ray for much of last year, looking for a distributor, so lots of people have had a chance to watch it. I was sorta one of those people, and Detroit Fanfare, last October, right before they announced that deal.

Now, my experience was a bit weird because there was a misunderstanding regarding the theater-grade encryption they used on their demo disc, so we spent over two hours watching most of a 90-minute movie, regularly interspersed with some often colorful tales told by Tyler while the techs tried to get it playing again. Still, I can say that I enjoyed it, even though horror movies generally don't interest me (though it's not really a horror movie). It's not perfect, but it's also not some low-budget flick that's just churned out so everyone can collect a check and go home. The one big complaint I had about it was that Tyler's character's parents got divorced, which you'd think would be a defining moment in a person's life (especially in this family), but the one time he pulls that bit of info out, I got the impression that the character couldn't remember exactly when it happened. I don't remember the exact line, but it included the words "several years".

Anyways, judging by the audience's reaction, a lot of them, myself included, will be buying the DVD (full disclosure: I went to college with Renae, so I'd probably buy it even if it sucked). They were offered a full refund to make up for the technical issues, but most of them declined, saying they enjoyed both the movie and Tyler's often rather embarrassing tales.

Cool. I enjoyed it. The acting was decent.
