Hard to tell who was who

There are a lot of characters but who was who. They should have made it much more clear what happened in the past, and who the people were in the present. I couldn't tell who was who or who did what to who. It just sort of meanders along with things happening but the characters aren't really examined at all. The blonde chick that turns up, why no titties? I mean why even have her in the film? I dunno, it's kind of a mess for something so simple.
